How to Validate Your Startup Idea in 48 Hours
Most founders spend months building products nobody wants. The smart ones validate first.
Here's the 48-hour framework we use at SolomonSignal to test ideas before writing code.
Step 1: Define the Problem (Hour 1-2)
Write down the exact problem you're solving. Be specific. "People waste time" is not a problem. "Freelancers spend 5+ hours per week on invoicing" is.
Step 2: Find 10 Potential Customers (Hour 3-8)
Don't ask friends. Find strangers who have this problem. LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitter, and niche communities are goldmines.

Step 3: Have Conversations (Hour 9-24)
Call or video chat with each person. Ask about their current workflow. Don't pitch your solution—listen.
Step 4: Identify Patterns (Hour 25-36)
What words do they all use? What frustrations come up repeatedly? These patterns are your product roadmap.
Step 5: Create a Landing Page (Hour 37-48)
Put up a simple page describing the solution. Include an email signup. Drive traffic from the communities where you found your interviewees.
The Validation Threshold
If 30%+ of visitors sign up, you've got something. Less than 10%? Time to pivot.
