Roast my idea: competitive intelligence for indie hackers

The pitch: a tool that monitors up to 10 competitor websites and alerts you when they change pricing, add features, or update their positioning. Priced at $19/month. I think indie hackers need this but cannot afford the enterprise tools ($500+/month). Be honest - would you use this?

The alert feature is the key value prop. I do not need a dashboard showing competitor data. I need a ping when something changes. If you can nail that - instant notification when a competitor drops their price or launches a feature that overlaps with mine - that is worth paying for.

Consider bundling this with other market intelligence. Competitor tracking alone might be thin. Add: keyword ranking changes, social media mention monitoring, and review site tracking. Make it a complete market awareness tool.

I would use the free version but not sure I would pay $19/month. As an indie hacker, I check my competitors manually about once a month. It takes 30 minutes. Would I pay $19 to save 30 minutes? Honestly probably not. Maybe the value is in catching changes you would MISS - a pricing change you did not notice for 2 months that affected your positioning.
